My name is Melissa Gordon I was born in Charleston SC, but raised in Norfolk, Virginia. I’m the middle child of five siblings. Growing up for me was a struggle, as a child I experienced things that I would not wish on my worst enemies. I suffered molestation at the hands of my father, brother, and my sister. Though there were times where I felt like I wanted to admit defeat and give up, there was always a driving force urging me to persevere. It wasn’t until later in life that I discovered that force be none other than the presence of God, I became attuned to his voice; recognizing that tiny voice said to hold on and stay strong was simply his way of driving me toward my purpose. I now stand here as a living witness that you can overcome anything that comes your way. I want to share my story as not only a testimony but as a revelation, that you can make it through and it is always darkest before the dawn. God wanted me to create a website where hurting women could feel safe again. I designed the website to encourage, and motivate. I want us to talk about the issues and not suppress them.
